BananasBananas originated in Southeast Asia and are now produced in China, Indonesia, Brazil, and Ecuador. They’re naturally very sweet and have a lovely soft texture. Bananas are a delightful fruit that can be used as a thickener for smoothies, to make dairy-free ice cream, and are easy to eat, as their protective peel doesn’t require you to wash them. To fill in the coloring sheet for this fruit, you’ll want to use a sun-yellow for the peel, and a light shade of green for the top of the peel. To add more to the picture, you could draw in some banana leaves or dress up the illustration with yellow/gold glitter! 2. Granny Smith ApplesOriginating from Australia, Granny Smith apples are the go-to choice for apple-based desserts, as they have a tart-sweet flavor that balances out the sweetness of the sugar in recipes. As well, Granny Smith apples have a firm texture that enables them to keep their shape when baked or cooked, not to mention they taste great fresh. When filling in the Granny Smith apple coloring sheet, use a nice bright yellow-green shade. To add something extra, draw some apple pies or trees in the background for more color. 3. WatermelonWhen people think of summer foods, they usually think of large slices of juicy watermelon. This fruit, which originated in Egypt, has a natural sweetness and firm texture that many people love. The inside of a watermelon is a pretty pink-red color, while the rind is a deep green with streaks of light green, so make sure to include these when selecting your color palette. To make it more fun, try drawing in some summer-themed items in the background, like sunglasses, beach umbrellas, and anything else that will add some more color. 4. PineapplePineapples originate from South America and are produced in Costa Rica, the Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia, and China. They have a very interesting pine cone-like shape that make them stand out from other fruits, further adding to their exotic appeal. In addition to using bright yellow and green to fill in this illustration, I recommend dressing up the picture with glitter, stickers, and other decorations. 5. StrawberriesStrawberries are the icon of the berry family; they’re sweet, have a lovely firm-soft texture, and taste amazing whether they’re fresh or cooked. These berries, which are at their best in spring and summer, are perfect for bringing on picnics, use in smoothies, use as a cake topping, and so much more. When filling in this coloring sheet, make sure to use a rich red shade that has a hint of pink, along with green for the stem and leaf. To make the picture more interesting, I recommend drawing a strawberry patch, a picnic scene, or other spring/summer activities and items to add some extra color. 6. AvocadosAvocados have increased in popularity over the past few years, as avocado toast recipes are consistently trending on social media! This savory fruit has a delightful umami taste sensation, and has a creamy texture that makes it a perfect base for smoothies, dairy-free puddings, and other versatile dishes. Avocados are bright green on the inside and green-brown on the outside, so make sure to have these colors on hand when filling in this sheet. For extra fun, I recommend drawing in a kawaii avocado or a piece of avocado toast (do it for the memes). 7. PlumsPlums are a classic fruit that is sweet, soft, and juicy, perfect for canning and baking into desserts! This fruit is a dark purple color on the outside, and has a pink-brown color on the inside, so make sure to use these colors when filling in this sheet. To add something extra to this coloring sheet, I recommend adding some glitter gel, stickers, ephemera, and other decorations to add some more vibrancy. 8. PapayaPapaya is an exotic fruit that originates from Central America and the West Indies. It has a similar flavor to cantaloupe, but isn’t as sweet, and has a texture similar to mangos. On the outside, papayas have a green-yellow skin, and the inside is a pink-orange color. So, make sure to have these shades available when filling in this sheet. For some extra vibrancy, draw some other exotic fruits in the background, or add some glitter, stickers, and other decorations. 9. MangoMangos are a delightfully sweet and soft-textured fruit that can be used for both sweet and savory dishes. Mangos have green and red skin but are pastel yellow on the inside, so make sure to have these colors on hand when filling in this illustration. To add something extra to the picture, try drawing your favorite mango recipe in the background for more color. 10. GuavaIf you’re a Starbucks Refreshers person, you’re likely in love with the Guava drink! This fruit has a very unique flavor that’s like a hybrid between strawberries and pears, and is loved worldwide. This delicious fruit has green skin and is orange-pink on the inside, so make sure to have these colors on hand when filling in this coloring sheet. For fun, I recommend drawing a picture of the Starbucks Guava Drink in the background for more color and dimension. 11. OrangesOranges are a wonderfully sweet, juicy, and overall delicious fruit. They’re orange both on the outside and inside, looking and tasting like sunshine itself! This fruit originates from Asia and is part of the citrus family, and has a slight acidity to it like limes and lemons. Oranges are perfect for juice and punch, and for many baked goods. When filling in this coloring sheet, I recommend drawing an orange vine in the background to add some green to the picture, in addition to the abundance of orange. 12. GrapesGrapes are small and flavorful, and are like little bursts of juice! They are used to make wine, and are delightful when paired with yogurt. I recommend drawing a vineyard in the background of this illustration, and try coloring the grapes both green and purple. 13. PeachesIf you’ve ever eaten peach cobbler, you know how soft, sweet, and tasty peaches are. Not only are they delicious when baked, but they are wonderfully juicy and firm when fresh. To add more color to this sheet besides peach pink, I recommend drawing in something associated with this fruit, like Princess Peach from the Super Mario franchise! |
